Through Act 1364, enacted on June 24, 2004 was established the day in this neighborhood, reminiscent of the opening date of Railway station La Paternal the July 12, 1904.

In 1930 a tram down to the Creek

At dawn on this day, an electric train Temperley had left more than sixty passengers each morning and was heading toward the Capital. The internal line 105 raised Each day workers leave the South Suburbs in the industrial area surrounding the Creek. By then, the waters had been transformed into a dark river that collected waste from industrial plants in the area. The driver, a 31 year old Italian who was making his second trip, drove a car packed and fast when he began to cross the bridge of Barracks, near Calle General Bosch. This bridge was raised to let ships plying the river and warned a stop signal to ground vehicles. A moment before, a tugboat carrying a boat had gone from the fridge La Negra. The driver of Tug tell the manager the bridge and he turned on the hazard lights. Apparently the driver of the tram saw those signs and passed on. When he perceived the elevation of the bridge was too late to stop the vehicle failed (tests later determined that the braking mechanism was defective.) The tram hit the Riachuelo with most of the passengers, killed 56 people and only four escaped.
